the bright side of mundane
Expressing emotions of one’s life through the contrast and narrations of colours and vibrancy.
Life can be seen as a series of contrasts. The light, and dark, the joys and sorrows, it seems as if it takes to know each experience most intensely by also knowing its opposite, and one of it cannot exist without the other.

We aim to illustrate a space that will show a contrast of the side of life. The wide range of colours to illustrate the vibrancy, and a swing to suggest joy and innocence and transiting to the mundane side characterised by the dull and dry landscape. A coloured ball was placed in the mundane landscape to represent optimism.

The concept was inspired by a child who is full of liveliness, hope, innocence and a carefree world as represented by the swing.
When the child grows up and leaves the childhood phase and steps into reality, he steps into the threshold of adulthood only to realize that life is not a child’s play. Responsibilities, problems, adversities and challenges sets in making life mundane.
Realizing the contrast of life, we are always offered by opportunities, hope, and optimism, allowing us to make life be colourful at the end.
